Smart power ICs in GaN for a bright future in power electronics

Florin Udrea | Cambridge University, Professor & Cambridge GaN Devices Ltd, CTO
18/11/2025Aula Magna
The power devices field has seen tremendous changes in the last decade. Most of the innovation and excitement in the field comes from the emergence of Wide Band Gap semiconductors – and in particular the Gallium Nitride and Silicon Carbide. This talk will cover power devices and power ICs based on Gallium Nitride. The asset of GaN is the possibility of monolithically integrating intelligence, for sensing & protection functions and enhanced reliability.
